What do our Flood Risk Assessments cover?
Our detailed, site-based FRAs can include:
- Consult with the local flood authority and the Environment Agency when needed.
- Visit the site to look around and take photos (if required).
- Check past flood records for the site and nearby areas.
- Assess flood risks from rivers and streams, both large and small.
- Look closely at risks like overflow, breaches, or the need for flood storage (when relevant).
- Suggest ways to reduce flood risk and list any required permissions.
- Check other possible flood sources, such as surface water, groundwater, drainage, or sewers.

As part of our FRA, we also provide a Drainage Impact Assessment at no extra cost, which includes:

- Perform basic calculations to determine whether the site needs on-site water storage (attenuation).
- Check site investigation reports and soakaway/percolation test results to understand how well the ground absorbs water.
- Estimate how much rainwater currently flows off the site.
- Follow the Building Regulations drainage hierarchy to select the most appropriate drainage method.
- Assess which SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) are suitable for the site’s drainage plan.
- Prepare any required drawings for outline or full planning applications.
- Run hydraulic modelling of the proposed drainage system, if needed.
